This will be two years earlier than the IMO originally thought possible. In the coming months I will be tabling a series of further proposals on ferry safety including the requirements for registering the number and names of passengers on board; a licensing regime, including operational instructions, for all ro-ro passenger ferries serving EU ports; and rules on the construction and operation of passenger ships in domestic voyages.
