Mr. Speaker, this past weekend a great Niagara regiment with a lineage reaching back to the War of 1812, the Lincoln and Welland Regiment, held a parade and memorial service in honour of the battle of Bergen-op-Zoom, fought in October of 1944.

The medals are in honour of the exceptional conduct and courage of the members of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment while part of the 10th Infantry Brigade of the Canadian 4th Armoured Division during battles in Kustan Canal and Bad-Zwisch, Germany in April 1945.

Mr. John Maloney (Erie, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, I am sure you will be pleased that a clerical oversight that deprived the Lincoln and Welland Regiment of two World War II battle honours has finally been corrected (1105 ) Regrettably, the regiment failed to receive honours for the unit's final two battles when scrolls were presented to Canadian military units in 1951.
