TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Lifelong learning policies would address opportunity gaps among the workforce, starting at the initial education system. Early school leaving would be fought and general qualification levels of school leavers would be improved. Illiteracy and innumeracy problems among the adult population would be addressed. Workforce training would be targeted especially at the low skilled. Combinations of work and training and mobility between training systems would be promoted. Informal learning would be recognised and validated and low-threshold, easy access language and computer training inside and outside the workplace would be organised.
Les politiques d'apprentissage tout au long de la vie offriraient des opportunités à la main-d'œuvre, en commençant par le système éducatif de base. Le décrochage scolaire serait combattu et les qualifications générales des jeunes à la sortie du système éducatif seraient améliorées. Les problèmes d'analphabétisme et d'innumérisme dans la population adulte seraient combattus. La formation de la main-d'œuvre ciblerait en particulier les travailleurs peu qualifiés. La formation en alternance et la mobilité entre les systèmes de formation seraient encouragées. L'apprentissage informel serait reconnu et validé, tandis que des formations de base, facilement accessibles, en langues et en informatique seraient organisées dans l'entreprise et en dehors de celle-ci.

Adapt education and training systems in response to new competence requirements through: better identification of occupational needs and key competences, and anticipation of future skill requirements; broadening the supply of education and training tools; developing frameworks to support the transparency of qualifications, their effective recognition and the validation of non-formal and informal learning; ensuring the attractiveness, openness and high quality standards of education and training systems (Integrated guideline No 23).

Where trains operate in a system, in which dynamic visual information is given on the station platform every 50 m or less, and destination or route information is also provided on the front of the train, it is not mandatory to provide information on the sides of vehicles.

The Commission, assisted by the European Maritime Safety Agency (the Agency), and with the possible involvement of any Member State concerned, shall collect the information referred to in Annex II and shall carry out an assessment of the training and certification systems in the third country for which the request for recognition was submitted, in order to verify whether the country concerned meets all the requirements of the STCW Convention and whether appropriate measures have been taken to prevent fraud involving certificates of competency .

ERTMS is a radio system used to send information to trains from the ground. A computer on board uses the information to calculate the maximum permitted speed and automatically slows the train down if necessary. ERTMS deployment means there will be one system for European trains, instead of the twenty different ones used at present; it will reduce infrastructure and maintenance costs and make the European rail network safer.

I also agree with the approach adopted by the Commission in its communication, and with the four aspects that have been identified: training, an information system – cooperation, specifically with Europol, OLAF and the European Central Bank – and protection under criminal law.
