The coherence of existing European, international or other globally used standards shall be checked (i.e. taking into account the work not only of CEN, Cenelec and ETSI, but also DATEX II, UTMC, OTS, ISO, IEC, ITU, etc.), potential gaps shall be assessed and compatible or open solutions proposed, either with the intention of providing for harmonisation and enhancement of existing standards or development of new interoperable standards and other specifications where appropriate.
La cohérence des normes européennes et internationales ou d'autres normes utilisées à l'échelle mondiale doit être vérifiée (compte tenu non seulement des travaux du CEN, du Cenelec et de l'ETSI, mais aussi de DATEX II, de l'UTMC, de l'OTS, de l'ISO, de l'IEC, de l'UIT, etc.), les lacunes éventuelles doivent être évaluées et des solutions compatibles ou ouvertes doivent être proposées afin d'assurer une harmonisation et une amélioration des normes existantes ou d'élaborer de nouvelles normes interopérables et d'autres spécifications lorsque cela se révèle judicieux.
