In accordance with Directive 2003/4/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2003 on public access to environmental information and repealing Council Directive 90/313/EEC , environmental information contained in verified operator’s or aircraft operator’s reports held by the public authorities should be made public to ensure transparency, subject to certain confidentiality requirements.
Conformément à la directive 2003/4/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 28 janvier 2003 concernant l’accès du public à l’information en matière d’environnement et abrogeant la directive 90/313/CEE du Conseil , il convient, dans un souci de transparence, que les informations environnementales figurant dans les déclarations vérifiées des exploitants ou des exploitants d’aéronefs qui sont détenues par les autorités publiques soient rendues accessibles au public, sous réserve de certaines exigences de confidentialité.

All this is complemented by the inspections carried out by the Food and Veterinary Office (FVO), which is part of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection, the TRACES System, as well as 11 sectoral Rapid Alert Systems (RAS), operational 24 hours/7 days a week, such as the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), the RAS-BICHAT alert system for bio- and chemo-terrorism, the monitoring and information centre of the Community mechanism for civil protection, and ARGUS, the secure general rapid alert system.
