Unless otherwise specified in this chapter, this Regulation and the acts adopted pursuant to this Regulation shall apply to applications for international registrations under the Madrid Protocol (‘international applications’), based on an application for an EU trade mark or on an EU trade mark and to registrations of marks in the international register maintained by the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (‘international registrations’ and ‘the International Bureau’, respectively) designating the Union.

Notwithstanding paragraph 1, where products are not directly imported from the country of origin but are exported to the Union from an intermediate country, the provisions of this Regulation shall be fully applicable and the transaction or transactions shall, where appropriate, be regarded as having taken place between the country of origin and the Union.

(5) The equipment with which a Canadian ship is fitted to comply with these Regulations shall meet the applicable electrical installation standards in sections 3.10, 3.12, 3.14, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, 15.6, 15.7, 15.11.2, 15.11.3, 52.1 to 52.4, 54.2 to 54.4 and 58.1 to 58.3 of Ship Electrical Standards, TP 127, published by the Department of Transport.

6 (1) A personal flotation device, lifejacket, lifebuoy, self-igniting light, pyrotechnic distress signal or life raft required by these Regulations shall meet the applicable standards and tests set out in the schedule.

Subject to the provisions of these regulations, these regulations shall apply to all sums standing to the credit of any account open in the Bank, provided that anything had or done by or in accordance with the directions of the Postmaster General or the Director with respect to deposits made before the coming into force of these regulations, if had or done in accordance with the regulations hereby repealed, shall be deemed to have been lawfully had or done notwithstanding that the provisions of these regulations were not complied with.
