Enhancing cooperation between the EU and Macao is a key goal, as well as the focal point of discussions at the annual EU-Macao Joint Committee Meeting, held on 9 July 2010 in Brussels.

2. Under Article 82 of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (hereinafter ‘EEA Agreement’) the amounts of the annual participation of the EFTA States, as confirmed to the Commission by the Joint Committee of the European Economic Area in accordance with Article 1(5) of Protocol 32 annexed to the EEA Agreement, shall give rise to the provision, at the start of the financial year, of the full amounts of the corresponding commitment appropriations and payment appropriations.
2. En vertu de l’article 82 de l’accord sur l’Espace économique européen (ci-après dénommé l’«accord EEE»), les montants relatifs à la participation annuelle des États AELE, tels qu’ils sont confirmés à la Commission par le comité mixte de l’Espace économique européen en conformité avec l’article 1er, paragraphe 5, du protocole 32 annexé à l’accord EEE, donnent lieu à l’ouverture intégrale, dès le début de l’exercice, tant des crédits d’engagement que des crédits de paiement correspondants.

Calls on the Commission to forward to Parliament the minutes and the conclusions of the meetings of the Joint Committee provided for in Article 9 of the Agreement, as well as the multiannual sectoral programme provided for in Article 3 of the new Protocol and the corresponding annual evaluations; calls on the Commission to facilitate the participation of representatives of Parliament as observers in the meetings of the Joint Committee; calls on the Commission to submit to Parliament and the Council, within the last year of application of the new Protocol and before the opening of negotiations for its renewal, a full evaluation report on its implementation, without imposing unnecessary restrictions on access to this document;
demande à la Commission de transmettre au Parlement les procès-verbaux et les conclusions des réunions de la commission mixte prévue à l'article 9 de l'accord, ainsi que le programme sectoriel multi-annuel prévu à l'article 3 du nouveau protocole et les évaluations annuelles s'y rapportant; lui demande également de permettre la participation de représentants du Parlement en qualité d'observateurs lors des réunions de la commission mixte et de présenter au Parlement et au Conseil, pendant la dernière année d'application du nouveau protocole et avant l'ouverture de négociations pour son renouvellement, un rapport complet d'évaluation de son application, sans restrictions inutiles à l'accès à ce document;

3. The Chairperson of the Joint Committee shall be appointed on an annual rotational basis from among the Chairpersons of the ESAs.
