(6) The Librarian and Archivist of Canada may, at any time, inspect records kept under sections 114 to 116 that are under the control of a government institution as defined in section 2 of the Library and Archives of Canada Act, and the archivist for a province may at any time inspect any records kept under those sections that the archivist is authorized to inspect under any Act of the legislature of the province.

11 (1) If the Librarian and Archivist determines that a recording that was made available to the public in Canada has historical or archival value, he or she may by a written request require any other person who is legally entitled to provide such a copy to provide to the Librarian and Archivist, in accordance with the terms specified, a copy of that recording in the form and quality that the Librarian and Archivist determines is suitable for archival purposes and specifies in the request.
11 (1) L’administrateur général peut, par écrit, exiger que lui soit remis un exemplaire de tout enregistrement mis à la disposition du public au Canada qu’il estime présenter un intérêt historique ou archivistique justifiant sa préservation. By unanimous consent, it was ordered, That, pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement between the Speaker of the House of Commons and the National Archivist of Canada dated June 8, 1993, all documents presented to a committee of the House of Commons sitting in camera and any other documents so designated by the Speaker which have been or will be deposited in the National Archives of Canada for safekeeping, including any such records deposited prior to the date of the Memorandum of Agreement, shall be identified as Secret Records; That, Secret Records shall not be made available by the Archivist to any person for a period of thirty (30) years from the close of the Parliamentary session in which the Secret Records were created, unless the House of Commons or one of its committees directs otherwise; and That, twelve (12) months before the expiry of the thirty (30) year delay, the Archivist will inform the Speaker that unless the Speaker directs otherwise, the secret documents will be made public according to the terms of aforementioned Memorandum of Agreement.
Du consentement unanime, il est ordonné, Que, conformément au Protocole d'entente auquel le Président de la Chambre des communes et l'Archiviste national du Canada ont souscrit le 8 juin 1993, soient désignés comme documents secrets tous les documents présentés à un comité de la Chambre des communes siégeant à huis clos ainsi que tous les autres documents désignés comme tels par le Président et qui ont été ou seront déposés aux Archives nationales pour être conservés, incluant les documents déposés avant la date d'entrée en vigueur du Protocole d'entente; Que, sauf directives contraires de la Chambre des communes ou d'un de ses comités, l'Archiviste ne donne pas accès aux documents secrets avant l'expiration d'un délai de trente (30) ans à compter de la fin de la session parlementaire au cours de laquelle ils ont été établis; et Que, douze (12) mois avant l'expiration du délai de trente (30) ans, l'Archiviste informe le Président qu'à moins d'avis contraire du Président, les documents secrets seront rendus publics selon les termes du Protocole d'entente ci-haut mentionné.

(5) Before the expiration of two years after the coming into force of this section, or at such earlier time as may be agreed to by the Chief Statistician and the National Archivist of Canada, the Chief Statistician shall transfer to the care and control of the National Archivist, under section 6 of the National Archives of Canada Act, all records referred to in paragraph (2)(c).
(5) Dans les deux ans suivant l'entrée en vigueur du présent article ou dans le délai inférieur dont conviennent l'archiviste national du Canada et le statisticien en chef, ce dernier transfère les documents visés à l'alinéa (2)c) sous la garde et le contrôle de l'archiviste national, conformément à l'article 6 de la Loi sur les Archives nationales du Canada.

(4) Before the expiration of thirty calendar years following the year in which a census referred to in subsection (2) was taken, or at such earlier time as may be agreed to by the Chief Statistician and the National Archivist of Canada, the Chief Statistician shall transfer to the care and control of the National Archivist, under section 6 of the National Archives of Canada Act, all records referred to in paragraphs (2)(a) and (b).
(4) Au cours des trente années civiles suivant l'année d'un recensement visé au paragraphe (2) ou dans le délai inférieur dont conviennent l'archiviste national du Canada et le statisticien en chef, ce dernier transfère les documents visés aux alinéas (2)a) et b) sous la garde et le contrôle de l'archiviste national, conformément à l'article 6 de la Loi sur les Archives nationales du Canada.
