Council Directive 78/686/EEC of 25 July 1978 concerning the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of the formal qualifications of practitioners of dentistry, including measures to facilitate the effective exercise of the right of establishment and freedom to provide services (1), and in particular Article 23a thereof, and Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications (2), and in particular Article 21(7) thereof, both as last amended by Council Directive 2006/100/EC adapting certain Directives in the field of the freedom of movement of persons, by reason of the accession of Bulgaria and Romania (3), provide that Member States must notify the Commission of the laws, regulations or administrative provisions they adopt as regards the award of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications in the field covered by these Directives.
