The Commission today approved aid totalling FF 485 million for Micro Compact Car-France, a subsidiary of MCC-AG in which Daimler-Benz/Mercedes has a 51% holding and SMH-AG (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Microelektronik und Uhrenindustrie-Swatch) a 49% holding. The aid concerns a project for a new design of vehicle, a micro-compact car to be called "Smart".
