75 (1) The Registrar must not cancel the registration of a variety unless the Registrar sends a notice, by registered mail, to the registrant giving the reasons for the cancellation and advising that the registrant may make representations concerning the cancellation to the Registrar in accordance with this section.

(2.2) Where at any time that an approval granted under subsection 178.2(3) in respect of a direct seller is in effect, an independent sales contractor (within the meaning assigned by section 178.1) of the direct seller would be a small supplier if the approval had been in effect at all times before that time and the contractor files with the Minister in prescribed manner a request, in prescribed form containing prescribed information, to have the registration of the contractor cancelled, the Minister shall cancel the registration of the contractor.

Unless otherwise specified in this title, this Regulation and the delegated acts adopted pursuant to this Regulation shall apply to applications for international registrations under the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the international registration of marks, adopted at Madrid on 27 June 1989 (hereafter referred to as ‘international applications’ and ’the Madrid Protocol’ respectively), based on an application for a European Union trade mark or on a European Union trade mark and to registrations of marks in the international register maintained by the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (hereafter referred to as ‘international registrations’ and ’the International Bureau’, respectively) designating the European Union '.

Unless otherwise specified in this title, this Regulation and the delegated acts adopted pursuant to this Regulation shall apply to applications for international registrations under the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the international registration of marks, adopted at Madrid on 27 June 1989 (hereafter referred to as ‘international applications’ and ‘the Madrid Protocol’ respectively), based on an application for a European Union trade mark or on a European Union trade mark and to registrations of marks in the international register maintained by the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (hereafter referred to as ‘international registrations’ and ‘the International Bureau’, respectively) designating the European Union'.

In order to ensure the effective and efficient registration of international trade marks in full consistency with the rules of the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the international registration of marks, the power to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 290 of the Treaty should be delegated to the Commission in respect of specifying the details on the procedures concerning the international registration of trade marks.
