1. For a transitional period until 1 January 2014, certificates of conformity of base vehicles of category N within the scope of Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 issued in accordance with Directive 2007/46/EC and Regulation (EC) No 692/2008 before the amendments introduced by this Regulation, shall continue to be valid.

(5) Sections 7 and 8 apply, with such modifications as the circumstances require, with respect to an amended application for a certificate filed pursuant to subsection (1) or (3) and with respect to a certificate issued pursuant to that amended application, and the certificate shall be effective as of the day set out in paragraph (4)(a), (b) or (c), as the case may be, and shall continue to be effective until the day the current certificate would, but for subsection (6), have ceased to be effective.

23. If a licence or a pilotage certificate is suspended by the Authority under paragraph 27(4)(b) of the Act, the holder of the licence or pilotage certificate shall, if he or she wishes to have the licence or certificate reinstated, take further training that will enable him or her to continue to meet the qualifications prescribed by paragraphs 14(1)(e) to (g) of these Regulations.
23. If the period of validity of a certificate expires in the course of a voyage, the certificate shall continue in force until the next port of call where the seafarer can obtain a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, provided that the period shall not exceed three months.
