1. The Act of the legislature of the late Province of Canada, passed in the twenty-sixth year of Her Majesty’s reign, chapter fifty-two; the Act of the said legislature, passed in the twenty-ninth year of Her Majesty’s reign, chapter fifty-nine; the first and second, and the fifth, sixth, and seventh sections, so far as they relate to the Harbour of Montreal, of the Act of the Parliament of Canada, passed in the thirty-sixth year of Her Majesty’s reign, chapter eleven; and the Act of the said Parliament, passed in the thirty-seventh year of Her Majesty’s reign, chapter thirty-three, are, and each of them is, hereby repealed; save and except that the Port Warden of the Harbour of Montreal, the Deputy Port Warden of the said harbour, and the Board of Examiners appointed under the said last-mentioned Act, shall continue to hold their respective offices until their successors have been appointed under this Act.

5. The following Acts passed by the said Parliament of Canada, and intituled respectively, — “An Act for the temporary government of Rupert’s Land and the North Western Territory when united with Canada”; and “An Act to amend and continue the Act thirty-two and thirty-three Victoria, chapter three, and to establish and provide for the government of “the Province of Manitoba”, shall be and be deemed to have been valid and effectual for all purposes whatsoever from the date at which they respectively received the assent, in the Queen’s name, of the Governor General of the said Dominion of Canada.
5. Les textes suivants passés par le dit Parlement du Canada et respectivement intitulés : « Acte concernant le Gouvernement provisoire de la Terre de Rupert et du Territoire du Nord-Ouest, après que ces territoires auront été unis au Canada, » et « Loi de 1870 sur le Manitoba », seront et sont considérés avoir été valides à toutes fins à compter de la date où, au nom de la Reine, ils ont reçu la sanction du Gouverneur Général de la dite Puissance du Canada.

6. Upon the coming into force of this agreement, Canada will transfer to the Province the money or securities constituting that portion of the school lands fund, created under sections twenty-two and twenty-three of The Act to amend and consolidate the several Acts respecting Public Lands of the Dominion, being chapter thirty-one of forty-two Victoria, and subsequent statutes, which is derived from the disposition of any school lands within the Province or within that part of the Northwest Territories now included within the boundaries thereof.
6. Three times a year, within the thirty working days following 31 May, 31 August and 31 December, the Commission shall send the European Parliament and the Council a report on implementation of the budget, covering both revenue and expenditure broken down by chapter, article and item.
