This could involve establishing mutual assistance between the competent national authorities for exchanging information on matters including specific cases of counterfeiting and piracy, while respecting the rules of confidentiality and data protection, and possibly carrying out joint surveys and checks and, if the interests of the Community were at stake, establishing Community-level cooperation between these national authorities and Commission.
