Under this agreement, the EIB has devoted EUR 1.3bn to projects undertaken by 12 French universities including "Operation Campus - Aix-Marseille University", a large-scale financing operation in keeping with the reform of French universities, which was made possible by an amendment of the Finance Law allowing universities to borrow directly from the EIB.
Par cet accord, la Banque de l’Union européenne consacrait 1,3 milliard d’euros aux projets portés par 12 universités françaises dont le projet « Opération campus Aix-Marseille Université ». Un financement d’envergure qui s’inscrit dans le cadre de la réforme des universités, et qui a été rendu possible grâce à une modification de la loi de finance autorisant les universités à emprunter directement auprès de la BEI.
