Mr. Ritter: Nominations for compounds to be reviewed by the expert committee process almost always come forward from a national government that attaches a priority for one reason or another to a particular compound, or are referred by its representative Codex committee, again because there is a perceived need, either because of international trade issues or because of an important therapy or something related to that, as a priority substance.
