As regards the amount of EUR 11 305 500 000 transferred from the Cohesion Fund to be spent in Member States eligible for funding from the Cohesion Fund, the eligibility rules concerning VAT shall be those applicable to the Cohesion Fund referred to in a Regulation laying down common provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund, the Cohesion Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and laying down general provision on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund.

Calls therefore for an increase in overall funds, as well as increased coordination between the funds available for TEN-T and the cohesion funding for transport projects (currently 23.7% of cohesion resources) and for the dedication of this amount from the cohesion fund to be contingent upon the observation of general principles of European transport policy and for TEN-T funding to be made conditional upon the concentration of national funding on, and the systematic application of the tools of Directive 2008/96/EC to, the TEN-T core and comprehensive networks;

As regards the publication of beneficiaries of the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, this obligation is further specified by Commission Regulation (EC) N° 1828/2006. Its Article 7 (1) (d) requires the publication of three categories of information: a) the list of the beneficiaries, b) the names of the operations and c) the amount of the public funding allocated to the operations.

In the light of the recent statements to Parliament (Committee on Regional Policy) by the Commissioner responsible for regional policy concerning problems associated with the take-up of appropriations from the Cohesion Fund for the year 2000, will the Commission say what amount Greece has committed to date for the year 2000, what percentage of that amount has been used, where Greece ranks in relation to the other three countries covered by the Cohesion Fund in terms of the take-up of appropriations, what the reasons for the problems in taking up the funds are and what the consequences of the failure to use committed appropriations will be?
Considérant les déclarations faites récemment devant le Parlement européen (commission de la politique régionale) par le commissaire responsable de la politique régionale à propos des problèmes constatés dans l'utilisation des crédits relevant du Fonds de cohésion pour l'exercice 2000, la Commission pourrait-elle répondre aux questions suivantes : quel est le montant des sommes débloquées à ce jour par la Grèce pour l'année 2000 ?
