The size of the amount to be settled for 1993-99 at the end of 2000 was roughly equivalent to the Cohesion Fund budget for one year.

The total Cohesion Fund budget 2000-2006 amounts to EUR 28.2 billion, of which about half is allocated to transport projects which play a major role in the development of the TEN-T network.
