The Commercial Arbitration Act (CAA) gives legal effect in Canada to the Commercial Arbitration Code (based on the model law adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law on 21 June 1985), an instrument that regulates various aspects of the conduct of commercial arbitration between states.
