In order to ensure the continuation of those actions, and taking into account that the Fund has always been funded by transfer from the tobacco aid, it is appropriate to transfer an amount equal to 5 % of the tobacco aid granted for the calendar years 2008 and 2009 to the Community Tobacco Fund.
Afin de garantir la poursuite de ces actions et compte tenu du fait que le Fonds a toujours été financé au moyen de transferts provenant de l’aide au tabac, il convient de transférer un montant égal à 5 % de l’aide au tabac accordée au Fonds communautaire du tabac pour les années civiles 2008 et 2009.

Council Regulation (EC) No 864/2004 finally extended the tobacco aid to 2008 and 2009 without accordingly extending the funding of the Community Tobacco Fund by a reduction of the tobacco aid.

The European Commission today proposed to extend the financing of the Community Tobacco Fund for the next two years.
La Commission européenne a proposé de prolonger de deux ans le financement du Fonds communautaire du tabac.

For the 2002 and 2003 harvests the Community Tobacco Fund is financed by a deduction from the premiums granted to tobacco producers of 2% and 3% respectively, which translates into funding of EUR 18 million and EUR 27 million for those years.
