Following a Federal Court of Appeal decision, the Supreme Court said that the constitutional rights of Omar Khadr, a young Canadian who was captured by the Americans at 15 years of age as a child soldier in Afghanistan and who ended up in Guantanamo, were being violated and that the Government of Canada had an obligation to make reparations and compensate him.
La Cour suprême, à la suite d'un jugement de la Cour d'appel fédérale, a dit que les droits constitutionnels d'Omar Khadr, un jeune canadien capturé par les Américains à l'âge de 15 ans alors qu'il était un enfant soldat en Afghanistan et qui s'est retrouvé à Guantanamo, étaient bafoués actuellement et que le gouvernement du Canada avait une obligation de réparation et de dédommagement.
