It would bring Parliament into disrepute, and it would do grave damage to the Constitution, to our constitutional commitments, and to the rule of law, if Parliament attempts an obvious and self-confessed sleight of hand to amend the Constitution in contravention of amending provisions.
Si le Parlement, de son propre aveu, emploie un tour de passe-passe aussi évident pour modifier la Constitution contrairement aux dispositions modificatives, il jettera le discrédit sur le Parlement, et causera de graves dommages à la Constitution, à nos engagements constitutionnels et à la primauté du droit.
