Convergence also enables the various Member States gradually to develop in line with each other and the Union to become competitive again faced with other growth regions in the world, the main difference being that cut-throat internal competition is prevented and that the Union is not forced to give up its social approach.
La convergence permet par ailleurs aux différents États membres de suivre progressivement une évolution parallèle et à l’Union de retrouver sa compétitivité face aux autres régions de croissance du globe, à cette différence près que l’on évite une concurrence interne mortelle et que l’Union n’est pas contrainte de renoncer à sa composante sociale.
