Following on from the Council’s answer (H-0132/08 ) concerning the plight of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, and René González, Cuban patriots who had sought to defend their country in the face of terrorist acts being fomented and mounted by US-based organisations in Miami, one point that needs to be clarified is whether the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has ever commented on the issue of visas to the relatives of these five Cuban patriots imprisoned in the US.
À la suite de la réponse du Conseil (H-0132/08 ) sur la situation inacceptable d’António Guerrero, de Fernando González, de Gerardo Hernández, de Ramon Sabañino et de René González, patriotes cubains qui ont défendu leur pays contre les actions terroristes encouragées et perpétrées par des organisations implantées à Miami, aux États-Unis, il convient de préciser que le Groupe de travail des Nations unies sur les arrestations arbitraires ne s’est jamais prononcé sur l’octroi de visas aux membres des familles de ces cinq patriotes cubains incarcérés aux États-Unis.

Thus, it is handing over the citizens of the Member States, bound hand and foot, to a country in which death penalties are executed on a daily basis, thousands are held without trial or defence, Cuban terrorists and hijackers roam free and Cuban patriots are held without defence because they uncovered plans for American terrorist activities against Cuban leaders, not to mention the hundreds in Guantanamo.
