In its working paper of 2000 [2] the Commission proposed several possibilities for the selection of the “.eu” Registry, namely: a dedicated non-profit private association to be incorporated within the EU, an entirely private commercial entity, an existing public or private organization at a national or European level and, finally, the assignment of the Registry’s functions to a competent department of an existing public administration.
Dans son document de travail de 2000[2], la Commission a proposé plusieurs possibilités pour la sélection du Registre du ".eu", à savoir : une association privée spécialisée sans but lucratif enregistrée dans l'UE, une entité commerciale entièrement privée, une organisation publique ou privée existante à un niveau national ou européen et, finalement, l'attribution des fonctions du Registre à un département compétent d'une administration publique existante.
