The interesting thing about democracy in Canada and Quebec is that members like me and my colleagues from all parties are democratically elected by the people and when we are no longer needed at the end of our term, we are told, as we say back home “Off to the doghouse with you”—and I would not want you to think that I have the hon. member for Bourassa in mind when I say this; this is just a colloquialism—and another representative gets elected.
Ce qui est intéressant en démocratie au Canada et au Québec, c'est que des personnes, comme mes collègues et moi, de chacun des partis, soient élues démocratiquement par une population, et que, quand on ne fait plus l'affaire au terme d'un mandat, je vais dire comme ma mère disait: «Dehors, les chiens pas de médaille»—et là, je ne voudrais pas que vous pensiez que je vise le député de Bourassa quand je parle comme cela, c'est une expression de terroir, de chez nous—et on procède au choix d'un autre représentant.
