But sadly, as I finished my first conference papers and articles, the whole business of attacks on embassies, diplo-napping, which is a thing that broke out on a large scale, particularly in Latin America, the bombing of targets in various countries, and the hijacking of planes for political reasons burgeoned to the point where, in fact, there was a desperate shortage of academics working in this area, and I think that still is the case.
