D. whereas France submitted application EGF/2013/014 FR/Air France for a financial contribution from the EGF, following 5213 redundancies, with 3886 persons expected to participate in the measures, during and after the reference period from 1 July 2013 to 31 October 2013, linked to a decline in the Union's market share in air transport,
D. considérant que la France a présenté la demande EGF/2013/014 FR/Air France en vue d'obtenir une contribution financière du Fonds à la suite de 5 213 licenciements, dont 3 886 personnes devraient participer aux mesures, pendant et après la période de référence du 1 juillet 2013 au 31 octobre 2013, en raison d'une diminution de la part de marché de l'Union dans le transport aérien;

4. Congratulates Communidad Valenciana on the capacity to apply for and use EGF to address problems of its labour market characterised by a high percentage of SMEs; in this context recalls that Valenciana region has already applied for the EGF support on five instances for textile, ceramic and natural stone as well as construction sector (applications: EGF/2009/0014, EGF/2010/005 and EGF/2010/009, EGF/2011/006 and EGF/2013/004);
4. félicite la Comunidad Valenciana pour sa capacité à solliciter et à utiliser l'aide du FEM pour s'attaquer aux problèmes touchant son marché de l'emploi, qui se caractérise par un fort pourcentage de PME; rappelle, à cet égard, que la région de Valence a déjà sollicité l'aide du FEM à cinq reprises pour les secteurs du textile, de la céramique, de la pierre naturelle et de la construction (demandes EGF/2009/0014, EGF/2010/005 et EGF/2010/009, EGF/2011/006 et EGF/2013/004);

C. whereas Germany submitted application EGF/2013/003 DE/First Solar for a financial contribution from the EGF following 959 redundancies in First Solar Manufacturing GmbH, with 875 workers targeted for EGF co-funded measures during the reference period 15 November 2012 to 15 March 2013,

C. whereas Finland submitted application EGF/2013/001 FI/Nokia for a financial contribution from the EGF, following 4 509 redundancies in Nokia, with 3 719 workers targeted for EGF co-funded measures during the reference period 1 August 2012 to 30 November 2012,

A report adopted by the Commission shows that during 2013 and 2014 the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) helped a total of 27 610 workers, who had been dismissed due to the economic crisis and the effects of globalisation, to find new job opportunities.
