3. Classified information shall be provided to the European Parliament under this Agreement once the Council, together with the European Parliament, has determined that equivalence has been achieved between the basic principles and minimum standards for protecting classified information in the European Parliament’s and in the Council’s security rules, on the one hand, and between the level of protection afforded to classified information in the premises of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the other.
3. Procedures shall be established to ensure that, when adverse information becomes known concerning an official of the European Parliament or other Parliament employee working for a political group, steps are taken to determine whether that individual's work brings him or her into contact with classified information or whether he or she has access to secure communication or information systems, and that the European Parliament's responsible service is informed.
Sont établies des procédures garantissant, si des renseignements défavorables viennent à être communiqués à propos d'un fonctionnaire du Parlement européen ou d'un autre employé du Parlement travaillant pour un groupe politique, que des mesures sont prises pour déterminer si cette personne effectue un travail lui donnant accès à des informations classifiées, ou si elle a accès à des systèmes de communication ou d'information sécurisés, et que le service compétent du Parlement européen est informé.

In the light of the Framework Agreement on relations between the European Parliament and the European Commission (1) signed on 20 October 2010 (‘the Framework Agreement’) and the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the Council concerning the forwarding to and handling by the European Parliament of classified information held by the Council on matters other than those in the area of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (2) signed on 12 March 2014 (‘the Interinstitutional Agreement’), it is necessary to lay down specific rules on the treatment of confidential information by the European Parliament.
Vu l'accord-cadre sur les relations entre le Parlement européen et la Commission européenne (1), signé le 20 octobre 2010 (ci-après dénommé «accord-cadre»), et l'accord interinstitutionnel entre le Parlement européen et le Conseil relatif à la transmission au Parlement européen et au traitement par celui-ci des informations classifiées détenues par le Conseil concernant d'autres questions que celles relevant de la politique étrangère et de sécurité commune (2), signé le 12 mars 2014, («l'accord interinstitutionnel»), il est nécessaire de définir des règles spécifiques sur le traitement des informations confidentielles par le Parlement européen.

Annex III to the VTMIS Directive which covers the Union Maritime Information and Exchange system and refers to other relevant Union legislation, should be made more explicit by specifying those Union acts in regard to which SafeSeaNet is currently used, such as Directive 2000/59/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (3), Directive 2005/35/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (4), Directive 2009/16/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (5) and Directive 2010/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council (6); in regard to the mentioned legal acts, the use of SafeSeaNet can further facilitate the exchange and sharing of information and should further facilitate the use of the system, the integrated information system and a platform to ensure the convergence and interoperability of maritime systems and applications, including space-based technologies.
L'annexe III de la directive 2002/59/CE, qui vise le système d'échange d'informations maritimes de l'Union et fait référence à d'autres dispositions pertinentes de la législation de l'Union, devrait être plus explicite et préciser les actes de l'Union dans le cadre desquels SafeSeaNet est actuellement utilisé, tels que les directives du Parlement européen et du Conseil 2000/59/CE (3), 2005/35/CE (4), 2009/16/CE (5) et 2010/65/UE (6).
