'3a. Accordingly, it is necessary to amend the Conditions of employment of other servants of the European Communities in order to incorporate this new category of other servants, taking account, on the one hand, of the specific nature of the duties, functions and responsibilities of accredited parliamentary assistants, which are designed to allow them to provide direct assistance to Members of the European Parliament in the exercise of their functions as Members of the European Parliament, under their direction and authority, and, on the other, of the contractual relationship between those accredited parliamentary assistants and the European Parliament.

Where provisions of the Conditions of employment of other servants of the European Communities apply to accredited parliamentary assistants, directly or by analogy, these factors should be taken into account, having strict regard, in particular, to the mutual trust which has to characterise the working relationship between the accredited parliamentary assistants and the Member or Members of the European Parliament whom they assist.
Lorsque des dispositions du régime applicable aux autres agents des Communautés européennes s'appliquent aux assistants parlementaires accrédités, que ce soit directement ou par analogie, il convient de prendre en compte ces facteurs en se référant strictement, en particulier, à la confiance mutuelle qui doit caractériser la relation professionnelle entre lesdits assistants et le ou les députés au Parlement européen qu'ils assistent.

In the same spirit, the Council declares that it is determined to contribute to the adoption of a Statute for Members of the European Parliament and to a satisfactory solution as regards parliamentary assistants.
Dans le même esprit, le Conseil se déclare déterminé à contribuer à l'adoption d'un statut des députés européens et à une solution satisfaisante concernant les assistants parlementaires.

The Council therefore encourages the European Parliament to proceed with this temporary solution, which will help to improve the situation of parliamentary assistants even though it does not definitively regulate all aspects of that situation.
Le Conseil encourage ainsi le Parlement européen à poursuivre cette voie de solution intérimaire qui, même sans en réglementer définitivement tous les aspects, permet d'améliorer la situation des assistants parlementaires.

The European Union stands ready to assist Madagascar with its preparations for the foreseen Parliamentary elections and to contribute substantially to Madagascar's efforts to restore the economic and social situation in the country.

The bodies which will deal with the implementation of the EA are the following: - the Association Council which meets at the level of ministers, - the Association Committee which meets at senior civil servant level and deals with the concrete implementation of the various provisions of the EA. - sub-committees and working groups are further foreseen in order to assist the Association Committee with regard to specific areas. - a Parliamentary Committee which will consist of members of the Latvian Parliament and the European Parliament.
Les organes chargés de la mise en oeuvre de l'accord européen sont les suivants: - le conseil d'association, qui se tient au niveau ministériel, - le comité d'association, qui réunit des hauts fonctionnaires et s'occupe de l'application concrète des diverses dispositions de l'accord européen, - des sous-comités et des groupes de travail sont également prévus pour assister le comité d'association dans des domaines bien définis, - un comité parlementaire, constitué de membres du parlement letton et du Parlement européen.
