The challenge is to adapt the regulatory framework and the production structure to obtain a sustainable and competitive European wine industry with long-term prospects while, at the same time, ensuring the use of the budgetary means in the most cost-effective manner.
Le défi consiste à adapter le cadre réglementaire et la structure de production de manière à doter l’Union d’un secteur vitivinicole durable et compétitif, dont l’avenir s’inscrirait dans le long terme, tout en garantissant que les crédits budgétaires soient utilisés de la manière la plus efficace sur le plan des coûts.

It is based on a desire to enhance the competitiveness of European wines, balance supply and demand, remove market intervention measures, improve the use of budgetary allocations, simplify the regulations, strengthen the social fabric in rural areas and protect the environment.
