Welcomes the US Foreign Account Tax compliance Act (FATCA) as a first step towards an automatic exchange of information between the EU and the US to fight trans-border tax fraud and tax evasion; regrets, however, that a bilateral/intergovernmental approach has been taken in the negotiations with the US rather than a common EU negotiating position; regrets the lack of full reciprocity in the exchange of information; calls for the respect of the rights of data protection for EU citizens in this context;
15. salue la loi américaine sur la conformité fiscale des comptes étrangers (FATCA) en tant que premier pas vers un échange automatique d'informations entre l'Union européenne et les États-Unis pour lutter contre la fraude et l'évasion fiscales transnationales; déplore toutefois qu'une approche bilatérale/intergouvernementale, plutôt qu'une position de négociation commune de l'Union, ait été retenue pour les négociations avec les États-Unis; déplore l'absence de réciprocité pleine et entière dans l'échange d'informations; appelle, dans ce contexte, au respect des droits des citoyens européens en matière de protection des données;
