IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

The main challenge for the international activities of the GNSS Programmes in 2009 will be to ensure the compatibility and interoperability with Galileo, to access global GNSS-related resources and set worldwide standards, to ensure security of the space segment and network of ground stations, while ensuring a stricter control of sensitive GNSS technologies developed with European funding, to join in an international effort to develop innovative applications and specialised applications of supra-regional interest.

2. Operators of passenger stations shall ensure that passenger stations provide access to information, ticketing and commercial activities for railway traffic throughout the comprehensive network and where appropriate information on connection with local and regional transport, in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 454/2011 of 5 May 2011 on the technical specification for interoperability relating to the subsystem ‘telematics applications for passenger services’ of the trans-European rail system.
2. Stresses the positive role that cross-border cooperation, transnational cooperation and URBACT initiative play in networking of cities, sharing best practice and generating innovative solutions; notes that cooperation between European cities is fully in line with Objective 3 (European territorial cooperation); considers that, during the period 2014- 2020, the urban dimension of the European territorial cooperation objective should be enhanced; encourages the involvement of cities in inter-regional and cross-border cooperation networks; believes that supported networks should be linked to real development projects and calls on the Commission to enhance the platforms to allow of an experimental approach to urban regeneration and development; believes that experimentation could be useful in the context of the ESF in particular, where an overall territorial strategy could complement an approach aimed at specific population groups;
15. souligne le rôle positif que jouent la coopération transfrontalière et transnationale et l'initiative URBACT dans le réseautage des villes, l'échange des meilleures pratiques et la recherche de solutions innovantes; observe que la collaboration entre villes européennes s'inscrit parfaitement dans l'objectif 3 (coopération territoriale européenne); est d'avis qu'au cours de la période 2014-2020, la dimension urbaine doit être renforcée dans l'objectif de la coopération territoriale européenne; encourage l'implication des villes dans les réseaux de coopération interrégionale et transfrontalière; est d'avis que les réseaux soutenus doivent être rattachés à des projets de développement concrets et demande à la Commission d'améliorer les plates-formes existantes, de manière à permettre le déploiement d'approches expérimentales de la rénovation et du développement urbains; estime que l'expérimentation pourrait être pertinente, en particulier dans le contexte du FSE, où une stratégie territoriale globale pourrait venir compléter l'approche par catégories de populations;

Given that the ocean is a complex system that is difficult to grasp by direct observation, calls upon the Commission to promote the harmonisation of data collection and exchange between Member States through the creation of a European Marine Observation and Information Network; Notes that the implementation of EU policies, such as the Water Framework Directive, Natura 2000 and others, will also involve developing coordinated observation networks;
