We also understand and share the desire for the negotiation of a balanced agreement with Mercosur to be completed before the end of this year and this Parliament also believes that, whilst complying with bilateral and regional agreements that have been negotiated or which are in the process of being negotiated, we should promote a kind of Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) with soul, European-style, in which we provide an institutional dimension and complete geographical coverage for relations between the European Union and Latin America.
Par ailleurs, nous comprenons et partageons votre souhait de voir la négociation d’un accord équilibré avec le Mercosur se terminer avant la fin de cette année. Le Parlement pense en outre que, tout en respectant les accords bilatéraux et régionaux qui ont été négociés ou qui sont en train de l’être, nous devrions promouvoir de tout notre cœur une sorte de zone de libre-échange des Amériques (ALCA) à l’européenne, dans laquelle nous offrirons une dimension institutionnelle et une couverture géographique totale aux relations entre l’Union européenne et l’Amérique latine.
