It is also significant that the present dispute concerns a species called, not Canadian halibut, but Greenland halibut. We should not forget that this species can be found throughout the North Atlantic, from Canada to Norway, in deep waters (up to 1 500 metres deep), which do not correspond to traditional Canadian fishing practice.
