The European Commission has decided to open a full investigation into the proposed merger between AOL Inc. and Time Warner Inc., both of the United States. In the course of its investigation the Commission will examine the effects of the transaction on the emerging business of music distribution over the Internet and on the markets for Internet dial-up access and paid-for content.
La Commission européenne a décidé d'ouvrir une enquête approfondie concernant le projet de concentration entre les sociétés américaines AOL Inc. et Time Warner Inc. Dans le cadre de son enquête, la Commission examinera les effets de l'opération sur le marché naissant de la distribution de musique par l'Internet et sur les marchés de l'accès commuté à l'Internet et des contenus payants.
