On 6-7 August 2005, in contravention of the Ankara Protocol and other relevant European law, Turkey, a candidate for accession to the European Union, prohibited the BP Company's vessel the 'Hans Scholl' from putting into Turkish ports because the ship, which belongs to the German company 'Chemikalien Seetransport GmbH', is managed through the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, a Member State of the EU.
En violation du protocole d’Ankara et d’autres législations européennes, la Turquie, pays candidat à l’adhésion à l’Union européenne, interdit, les 6 et 7 août, au navire «Hans Scholl» de la compagnie BP de relâcher dans les ports de Turquie parce que la gestion de ce bateau, qui appartient à la société allemande Chemikalien Seetransport GmbH, s’effectue depuis le territoire de la République de Chypre, État membre de l’Union européenne.
