Notes that the European Union is finding it more difficult than other regions in the world to get out of the crisis, largely on account of inappropriate, insufficient and belated political responses to the crisis and the structural weakness of its governance capacity, and notes the risk that the crisis will seriously and permanently weaken its economic, and thus political, position on the world stage, which perhaps will only be regained in the long term and if the EU is able to consider the sustainability of the concept of the ‘European way of life’ without undermining its core values;
note que l'Union européenne connaît plus de difficultés à sortir de la crise que d'autres régions du monde, en grande partie en raison de réponses politiques inadaptées, insuffisantes et tardives à la crise et de la faiblesse structurelle de sa capacité de gouvernance, et relève que la crise risque d'affaiblir fortement et durablement sa position économique, et donc politique, au plan mondial, qu'elle ne pourra peut-être reconquérir qu'à long terme et si elle est capable de se pencher sur la durabilité du concept du «mode de vie européen» sans porter atteinte à ses valeurs fondamentales;
