D. conscious of the situation of the peoples of the Southern Caucasus, at the eastern extremity of Europe, and the inherited difficulties in their relations from the Soviet era, and consequent enduring human suffering and other problems, and reiterating its conviction that the EU must play a greater political role and a more courageous one in this region of the world, taking account of the aspirations of these countries and their peoples to participate fully in the process of European integration,
D. conscient de la situation des peuples du Caucase du sud, à l’extrémité orientale de l’Europe, des difficultés, héritées de l’ère soviétique, qu’ils connaissent dans leurs relations ainsi que des souffrances humaines et des autres problèmes persistants qui en découlent, et réitérant sa conviction que l’Union européenne se doit de jouer un rôle politique plus important et plus courageux dans cette région du monde en tenant compte des aspirations de ces pays et de leurs peuples à participer pleinement au processus d’intégration européenne,
