We can say that almost all women have worked hard to achieve a better Treaty where equality is concerned, and I therefore think that we can be quietly pleased with the fifteen men who sat and adopted the Treaty of Amsterdam and were therefore also involved in implementing the principles of equality, even though it cannot, of course, be said that there is much in the way of obvious equality in their own Assembly.
On peut déclarer que presque toutes les femmes ont œuvré avec acharnement en faveur d'une amélioration du Traité au niveau de l'égalité des chances et j'estime, en toute discrétion, que nous pouvons féliciter les quinze hommes qui ont signé le traité d'Amsterdam et ont ainsi contribué à la mise en application des principes de l'égalité des chances en dépit du fait qu'on ne puisse pas véritablement parler d'une grande parité au sein de leur corps.
