− Mr President, as Pakistan prepares for important parliamentary elections, the situation is, as we all know, very difficult and preoccupying, and I, also, like many of you, have to express that I was deeply shocked by the heinous bomb attack and assassination attempt in Karachi, when Ms Benazir Bhutto returned to the country last week, and also by the terrible loss of life, which has affected so many innocent people.
− (EN) Monsieur le Président, alors que le Pakistan se prépare à d'importantes élections parlementaires, la situation est, comme nous le savons tous, très difficile et préoccupante. Moi aussi, comme beaucoup d'entre vous, je dois reconnaître que j'ai été profondément choquée par l'atroce attentat à la bombe et la tentative d'assassinat qui ont eu lieu à Karachi au moment du retour de M Benazir Bhutto dans son pays la semaine dernière, ainsi que par les nombreux morts à déplorer parmi la population innocente.
