Prime Minister Jean Chrétien admitted in his book, Straight from the Heart, that he was responsible for modifying the principle of minority language education as applied to the province of Quebec in his futile efforts to obtain René Lévesque's signature on the 1982 Constitution agreement.
Le premier ministre Jean Chrétien a admis, dans son livre intitulé Dans la fosse aux lions, qu'il avait lui-même modifié le principe de l'instruction dans la langue de la minorité, pour ce qui est de la province de Québec, dans un futile effort pour que René Lévesque appose sa signature à l'entente constitutionnelle de 1982.
