If they were to study the languages, culture, and history of the countries of origin of their immigrant schoolmates, pupils born in host countries would slot more easily into cross-cultural coexistence, help more effectively to integrate their schoolmates into the community, and be less likely to be influenced by racist and xenophobic ideologies.
