If such a hypothetical scenario were to develop whereby there is disagreement on two or three occasions, at some point Parliament would say, " This is it" . The final word on the compensation of judges would then rest with the elected members of Parliament in the House of Commons, as opposed to the final word resting with the people who, rightly or wrongly, are perceived in that situation to be judging in their own interest.
