The European Union notes with satisfaction the intention of the IGAD Ministerial Technical Committee to play a more active and consistent role in overseeing and supporting the negotiations.

The European Union renews its support to the Ministerial Mission of the Co-Presidency of the IPF Committee on Sudan, which will start on 23 January, whose main objectives will be to discuss with the parties, in close consultation with the Kenyan Chairman of the IGAD Ministerial Sub-Committee on south Sudan conflict, appropriate ways and means to consolidate, and possibly expand, the present cease-fire as well as to accelerate the peace negotiations, along the lines of the conclusions reached at the last Ministerial Meeting of the IPF Committee on Sudan, held in Rome on 19-20 November 1998.
L'Union européenne réitère son appui à la mission ministérielle de la coprésidence du comité "Soudan" du Forum du partenariat de l'IGAD, qui débutera le 23 janvier et aura pour objectifs principaux de discuter avec les parties, en concertation étroite avec le président kényan du sous-comité ministériel de l'IGAD chargé du conflit dans le sud du Soudan, des moyens de consolider et, si possible, d'étendre le cessez-le-feu actuel, ainsi que d'accélérer les négociations de paix, dans le sens des conclusions dégagées lors de la dernière réunion ministérielle du comité "Soudan" du Forum du partenariat de l'IGAD, qui s'est tenue à Rome les 19 et 20 novembre 1998.

The organs entrusted with the implementation of the Agreement are the following : - the Association Council which meets at ministerial level and supervises the implementation of the Agreement; - the Association Committee which meets at senior civil servant level and deals with the concrete implementation of the various provisions of the Europe Agreement; - the nine Sub-Committees and Working Groups that assist the Association Committee in the implementation of the Agreement with regard to specific areas; - the Joint Parliamentary Committee which consists of members of the European and Hungarian Parliaments.
Les organes chargés de la mise en oeuvre de l'accord sont: - le conseil d'association qui se réunit au niveau ministériel et supervise la mise en oeuvre de l'accord; - le comité d'association qui se réunit au niveau des hauts fonctionnaires et traite de l'application concrète des diverses dispositions de l'accord européen; - les neuf sous-comités et groupes de travail qui secondent le comité d'association dans la mise en oeuvre des dispositions de l'accord relatives à des domaines spécifiques; - le comité parlementaire d'association constitué de membres des parlements européen et hongrois.

The bodies which deal with the implementation of the Agreement are the following: - the Association Council which meets at ministerial level and supervises the implementation of the Agreement has met 29 May 1995 and 30 January 1996. - the Association Committee which meets at senior civil servant level and deals with the concrete implementation of the various provisions of the Europe Agreement has met in Sofia on 9/10 November 1995, the next meeting is scheduled for the 22 October 1996. - the Sub-Committees that assist the Association Committee in the implementation of the Agreement with regard to specific areas have met on numerous occasions.
Les organes chargés de la mise en oeuvre de l'accord sont les suivants: - le conseil d'association, qui se tient au niveau ministériel et surveille la mise en oeuvre de l'accord, s'est réuni le 29 mai 1995. La prochaine rencontre a été programmée pour le 30 janvier 1996; - le comité d'association, qui est composé de hauts fonctionnaires et s'occupe de l'application concrète des diverses dispositions de l'accord européen, s'est réuni à Sofia les 9 et 10 novembre 1995. La prochaine rencontre est prévue pour le 22 octobre 1996; - les sous-comités, qui assistent le comité d'association dans la mise en oeuvre de l'accord pour certains domaines spécifiques, se sont réunis à plusieurs reprises.
