Although the Commission understands that parts of this delay are due to objective reasons (i.e. stricter safety rules in tunnels and work in sensitive environmental areas) in France, it would like to point out that the completion of this link is vital to the improvement of interconnections between Spain and France and to the functioning of the internal market.
