The annual Nov. 29th commemoration by the United Nations of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People should be transformed into an International Day of Solidarity for a Two-State Solution, including solidarity with all refugees created by the Israeli-Arab conflict.
La Journée internationale de solidarité avec le peuple palestinien, que soulignent chaque année les Nations Unies, le 29 novembre, devrait plutôt s'appeler « Journée internationale pour la création de deux États et de solidarité pour tous les réfugiés du conflit arabo-israélien ».

I move: That the House continue to support measures which: (a) condemn the brutal massacre of Syrian civilians by government forces in clear violation of earlier commitments; (b) call for an immediate end to the violence, especially the attacks on civilians; (c) support the Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and Arab League efforts to establish a ceasefire and implement the six-point peace plan; (d) call for unrestricted access to the country for the international media; (e) support the government's decision to expel Syrian diplomats in protest to the latest atrocities in Syria; (f) call on the international community to speak with one voice in clearly and categorically condemning the violence and working to bring about a complete cessation of hostilities; (g) urge the leadership of China and Russia to play an active and decisive role in achieving an effective ceasefire that saves the lives of innocent civilians, as well as negotiating a road map to reforms that respond to the democratic aspirations of the Syrian people; (h) increase Canada's humanitarian aid to refugees and to internally displaced persons fleeing violence in Syria; and finally, (i) stand in solidarity with those who aspire for peace, democratic governance and the protection of human rights.
Je propose: Que la Chambre continue de soutenir les mesures qui: (a) condamnent le massacre brutal de civils syriens par les forces gouvernementales en violation flagrante des engagements pris par le gouvernement syrien; (b) demandent de mettre immédiatement fin à tous les actes de violence, en particulier contre les civils; (c) soutiennent les efforts de l'envoyé spécial conjoint de l'ONU et de la Ligue Arabe visant à obtenir un cessez-le-feu et à mettre en oeuvre le plan de paix en six points; (d) réclament pour les médias internationaux le libre accès au pays; (e) appuient la décision du gouvernement d'expulser les diplomates syriens en signe de protestation contre les récentes atrocités commises en Syrie; (f) demandent à la communauté internationale de parler d'une seule voix afin de condamner ouvertement et catégoriquement la violence et d'oeuvrer à l'arrêt complet des hostilités; (g) exhortent les dirigeants chinois et russes à jouer un rôle actif et décisif dans l'obtention d'un véritable cessez-le-feu qui sauvera la vie de civils innocents et dans les négociations visant à établir une feuille de route portant sur des réformes qui répondront aux aspirations démocratiques du peuple syrien; (h) augmentent l'aide humanitaire offerte par le Canada aux réfugiés qui fuient la violence en Syrie; et finalement (i) sont solidaires avec tous ceux qui aspirent à la paix, à la gouvernance démocratique et à la protection des droits de la personne.

Mr. Speaker, today is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which marks the adoption by the United Nations of the 1947 resolution providing for the creation of a Jewish state and an Arab state within Palestine.

Proposes that an international fund for solidarity and economic assistance be immediately set up to tackle specific problems from the outset of Phase I, helping both populations directly, and including the reconstruction of the economic and social fabric of the Middle East and of Palestine and, in the medium term, the promotion of democracy, economic development and social justice in the Arab world as a whole;

If I have to read at a time like this that the United States of America is still rejecting the International Criminal Court and that Congress is even debating whether or not those who cooperate with the Criminal Court should be penalised, then this is not what I understand by developing a policy based on solidarity between the European Union and the United States.
Ceci signifie que nous pouvons à la fois être solidaires des États-Unis et veiller constamment à ce que la solidarité ne soit pas une voie à sens unique.
