How can we be satisfied with such a banal, factual observation as that, at the same time refusing, by default, to give justice to those people who, even today, still bear the badly healed scars of colonisation and slavery?
Je ne veux certes pas polémiquer à ce sujet, mais voudrais tout de même dire ceci à propos du pardon et des excuses, que l'on semble reprocher à ceux qui ont négocié Durban - j'en étais et je reconnais que je me suis beaucoup battu pour obtenir ce texte - dire que, bien évidemment, ceux de notre génération et même ceux de la génération précédente ne furent pas, ne sont pas les acteurs ni d'une colonisation trop souvent dévoyée, ni de l'esclavagisme, mais à ceux-là, je leur dis quand même ceci : comment se satisfaire d'une observation factuelle, aussi banale que celle-là, et refuser de rendre justice par contumace à ceux et à celles qui aujourd'hui encore en portent les cicatrices mal refermées ?
