That, in the opinion of the House, in order to ensure the long-term ecological and economic vitality of the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River Basin, the governments of Canada and the United States should continue to foster trans-jurisdictional coordination and collaboration on science and management activities to enhance and restore water quality in the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River Basin, by referring the matter of Lake of the Woods water quality to the International Joint Commission for examination, reporting, and recommendations regarding the binational management of the international waters of the Lake of the Woods and Rainy River system and the International Joint Commission's potential role in this watershed, in line with the International Watersheds Initiative.
Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, afin d'assurer la vitalité écologique et économique à long terme du bassin du lac des Bois et de la rivière à la Pluie, les gouvernements du Canada et des États-Unis devraient continuer de favoriser la coordination et la collaboration transgouvernementales dans les activités scientifiques et de gestion visant à améliorer et restaurer la qualité de l’eau dans le bassin du lac des Bois et de la rivière à la Pluie, en demandant à la Commission mixte internationale d’examiner la question de la qualité de l’eau du lac des Bois et de produire à ce sujet un rapport assorti de recommandations concernant la gestion binationale des eaux internationales du bassin et le rôle que la Commission pourrait y jouer dans le cadre de l'Initiative internationale sur les bassins hydrographiques.

The report should identify measures necessary to conduct the fight against terrorism, including where appropriate priorities, structures, targets and deadlines; Requests Eurojust to explore all possible fields of collaboration according to the agreement with Europol and to strengthen their partnership with a view to building up a comprehensive strategic approach to the fight against trans-national organised crime and terrorism; Underlines that Eurojust should be associated with work of Joint Investigation Teams as far as possible; the Council therefore welcomes Eurojust's and Europol´s offer to host a meeting of the Network of experts on Joint Investigation Teams, to be designated in accordance with the Hague Programme; Calls on Eurojust and OLAF to improve their collaboration and notes with satisfaction that OLAF and Eurojust have recently started to work together to cooperate within their respective competencies in investigations and prosecutions regarding the protection of the financial interests of the Communities; calls on Eurojust and the Commission (OLAF) to examine legal requirements permitting rapid arrangements for the exchange of personal data; Welcomes the development of external relations between Eurojust and third countries, through both the designation of contact points and the conclusion of agreements.
Ce rapport devrait définir les mesures nécessaires pour mener la lutte contre le terrorisme, en précisant lorsqu'il y a lieu priorités, structures, objectifs et échéances; demande à Eurojust d'explorer toutes les possibilités de collaboration conformément à l'accord conclu avec Europol, et de renforcer leur partenariat en vue de mettre sur pied une approche stratégique globale de la lutte contre la criminalité organisée transnationale et le terrorisme; souligne qu'Eurojust devrait être associé autant qu'il est possible aux travaux des équipes communes d'enquête. Le Conseil se félicite en ce sens de l'offre faite par Eurojust et Europol d'organiser ensemble une réunion du réseau d'experts sur les équipes communes d'enquête, nommés conformément au programme de La Haye; demande à Eurojust et à l'OLAF de mieux coopérer et note avec satisfaction que l'OLAF et Eurojust ont commencé récemment une collaboration en vue de coopérer, dans le cadre de leurs compétences respectives, en ce qui concerne les enquêtes et les poursuites dans les affaires ayant trait à la protection des intérêts financiers des Communautés. Le Conseil engage Eurojust et la Commission (OLAF) à examiner les conditions prévues par la loi pour permettre des procédures rapides d'échange de données à caractère personnel; se félicite du développement de relations entre Eurojust et des pays tiers, tant par la désignation de points de contact que par la conclusion d'accords.
