In November 1999, Member States considered that the Community had to obtain a European laboratory network for detection and the identification of the GMO in food, field in which the JRC had strongly invested itself, at the request of DGs SANCO and DG ENV. It was therefore decided to entrust to the JRC the creation of this network.
En novembre 1999, les Etats membres ont estimé que la Communauté devait se doter d'un réseau européen de laboratoires pour la détection et l'identification des OGM dans les aliments, domaine dans lequel le CCR s'était fortement investi à la demande des DG SANCO et DG ENV. Il a donc été décidé de confier au CCR la création de ce réseau.
